Steven Linn Resume PDF
Profile
Hello, my name is Steven Linn.
I am a graphic designer and web developer from Kenosha, Wisconsin. My main focuses are designing logos, illustrations, and CSS based websites. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Parkside in May 2009, with a Bachelors of Arts degree. While there I earned a web-programming certificate and completed concentrations in graphic design and web design.

For the past three years I have been working in the media services department of the Kenosha News. Working for the Kenosha News has given me work experience in a fast passed printing environment. I have learned the importance of meeting deadlines and the benefits of working in a group environment.

Outside of work I am a freelance designer. I have worked with companies like the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, Squirrels Photography, SAFE inc., and Murdock Construction. Every project presents new obstacles and the challenge of finding effective solutions to those obstacles is what motivates me. I constantly strive to re-think and re-invent my design ideas by learning new techniques and incorporating them into my work. Please view my Portfolio section to seem my latest work.
Personal Statement
In today's society, visual art surrounds us with a vast array of styles, methods, and techniques. Due to this overwhelming impact of design on today’s culture, I have become submerged in visual art. I aspire to create designs that can quickly convey a clear message. In order to achieve this, I pay close attention to the hierarchy and legibility of my designs.

As a young artist I used a pencil and paper to draw and sketch but as technology progressed, so did my design work. I now find that my best work comes from computer-based programs like Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop. The knowledge of these programs has drastically influenced my work. I continue to learn how to use different tools and manipulate my design as technology continues to advance.

Design has become a passion of mine. It is not only something that I have spent a lot of time practicing and perfecting but also something I take great pride in. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my personal work. When I’m working on a specific piece, the rest of the world seems to melt away; it is just my tool and I, whether it is a pencil, pen, or a computer mouse. I’m learning not to be too precise to help stay on schedule and budget. My ultimate goal is to create a design that will intrigue and draw the viewer in.
